What is the Working Principle of a Hydraulic?

The transmission method that uses liquid as the working medium to realize energy transmission is called liquid transmission. How hydraulic transmission works


Discussing the working principle of hydraulic transmission can start with the simplest hydraulic jack. Figure 1 shows the working principle of a hydraulic jack. The hydraulic jack consists of two parts, a manual plunger pump, and a lifting cylinder.

When working, lever 1 is lifted first, the small piston 2 is driven up, the sealed volume of the lower chamber of the small cylinder body 3 increases, the pressure in the chamber decreases, and a partial vacuum is formed. Under the action of atmospheric pressure, the oil pushes open the steel ball of the one-way valve 4, enters along the oil suction hole and fills the lower cavity of the small cylinder 3, completes an oil suction action, and then presses down the lever 1, and the small piston 2 moves down, the closed volume of the lower cavity of the small cylinder body 3 decreases, and the pressure in the cavity increases, so that the check valve 4 is closed, blocking the passage of oil flowing back to the oil tank 10, and making the steel ball of the check valve 5 receive a The upward force when this force is greater than the force exerted by the lower chamber of the large cylinder 6, the steel ball is pushed away, and the oil enters the lower chamber of the large cylinder 6 (the unloading valve 9 is closed), promote the big piston 7 to move upwards, and the weight 8 will be jacked up for a certain distance. Lifting and pressing lever 1 repeatedly can make the big piston 7 push the heavy object 8 to rise continuously, so as to achieve the purpose of lifting. Rotate the oil unloading valve 9 by 90°, the lower chamber of the large cylinder body 6 communicates with the fuel tank 10, the large piston 7 moves down under the push of the weight 8, and the oil in the lower chamber is discharged back to the fuel tank 10 through the oil unloading valve 9.
